PostSubject: Callsign Etymology   Callsign Etymology - Page 3 EmptyThu Aug 16, 2007 11:18 am

First topic message reminder :

The origin or history of your callsigns. Post em here!

TooTsY
- was the name of my crush (IRL)
- modified it to become 2-TSY, my 2-meter(VHF) callsign... short for DY-2-TSY
- the [2] in 2-TSY was a regional prefix, indicating origins in the NorLu area
- been using that ever since.. (lame, huh?) Laughing

So how'd you come up with your callsign? Wink

QUICKSAND...

it's a single word... hindi ako quick.... hindi rin ako sand... just to clarify, hehe.

QUICKSAND... Bakit?

-kasi parang astig (siyempre call sign ko iyan)
-wala pang gumagamit (at sana, wala na ring gagamit)
-sniper mode sana ako nung una, eh ang quicksand, naghihintay lang iyan para lamunin ka, nyahahaha, pero hindi natuloy, tsk tsk tsk! hindi na ako nagpalit ng call sign
-quick sa photo-ops
-quick sa boodle fight at kainan
-quick mapagod, nyahaha!

ayon... QUICKSAND! Very Happy

Grey923- dito po nag start ang pangalan ko

e·qui·nox
(plural e·qui·nox·es) noun

1. time of equal day and night: either of the two annual crossings of the equator by the Sun, once in each direction, when the length of day and night are approximately equal everywhere on Earth. The equinoxes occur around March 21 and September 23.

-September 23 ang birthday ko
-Grey(Light +Dark)= Equinox

.... In short ito po ang pinangalan sa akin ng tatay ko. lol!

I also got my call sign during my high school days....

im already using Range_02 as my codename in online games, starcraft, counter strike,MU onlline..etc...

I got that name coz I really want to be a scout ranger, unfurtunately I just got criminology, and I like adventures as well...so I removed the "R" and added _02....that's where i got my call sign....

sa akin nman po simple lang...
isang simpleng pangalan sa isang simpleng tao
na ang tanging hinahangad ay ang maipabilang sa grupo.... Smile

i had been using "wolf" as my call sign eversince.
much more during the rise of CS.
it was simply because of my admiration of the wolf's nature.

inasmuch as i would like to use it as my call sign for this group,
i realized that it is very common and that someone might have already used the name.
so instead, i chose "OKAMI", which is the nihonggo translation of the word.

in fact, i am using the same call sign in my work place. Smile

AYS

this is formerly spelled as ICE as in yelo which is what i've been using since hs. . .
It became AYS because the spelling made me laugh the 1st time i saw it here- sa thread,
it made me remember how my granny adress' me
( for my apo, AYSA - always that way since birth kpg my note or gift,
as in he prefers spelling it as AYSA instead of AIZA) . . .
and ofcourse the use of this spelling was initiated by a special person too. . . ajejeje Callsign Etymology - Page 3 Lol
