| i am having mixed feelings --- in fact, alarmed --- about the information i heard from sir doddie during yesterday's games at suello regarding the PNP's plans of getting more stringent about airsoft by next year (2008).
my initial comment was that the PNP's plan is too unilateral. i can't imagine a guideline drafted SOLELY and EXCLUSIVELY by the PNP. a guideline being rammed down our throats like a bitter pill. (i expect our fellow airsofters who are the so-called "martial law babies" to speak well along this line.)
my suggestion is that the guidelines should be a product of a bilateral effort. the presidents of the various airsoft groups or clubs (to include their lawyer-members and their think-tanks; a committee or a negotiating panel, whatever you want to call it later) should be allowed to sit down with the PNP and jointly draft the guidelines, all in the spirit of CONSULTATION. it should not be an IMPOSITION. but instead premised on MUTUALITY. mutual consent, mutual respect.
my other initial suggestion to sir doddie is that it should be in black-and-white, such as a MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT or MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING.
by then, the paper will speak for itself. it should not just be a verbal arrangement or agreement. if it will be verbal, each individual police officer will have his own interpretation of the guidelines and there will be nightmare of confusion and chaos.
i don't want to sound like an alarmist, but i hope the government will not come to the point of pushing us to go underground or playing our games in a clandestine manner. HUWAG NAMAN SANA. (again, i expect our fellow airsofters who are the so-called "martial law babies" to speak well along this line.)
we want a guideline that respects our constitutional rights to freedom of peaceful assembly, freedom of unrestricted movements, etc. (just like the argument of the pro-gun advocates that if you will outlaw the gun, only the outlaws will have a gun and there will be lawlessness everywhere. anarchy on the streets!)
this should be our priority thought by 2008. this will be the acid test of our unity and our collective intellect. this will chart the course of our future. the future of airsoft as a safe and a legitimate form of sport and amusement. this will shape the overall social perception by future generations of airsofters. the responsibility is on the shoulders of the present generation of airsofters (tayo!).
happy new year everybody! let's rock n roll!!!

| mga sir dont tell me the IRR of airsoft is revoke???wut do you mean about this info sir slyfox? i dont get it... is it because of villar's "PAPOGI" style in politics? pati ba naman our beloved airsoft hobby ay pinopolitika nanaman???????
hmmm will see about that, i will ask about it sa UAA, anyways thank you sir about sa info/alert....
MAYBE WE MUST NOW IMPOST GUIDELINES REGARDING AIRSOFT...remember guys and girls, if may magkamali man sa atin di lang ang team ang damay kundi ang entire airsoft community sa Baguio
example: 1.dont use bdu or in full battle gear in public * HONESTLY I SAW SOMEONE WHO IS PLAYING WITH US WITH FULL BATTLE GEARS WALKING ALONG BOKAWKAN AREA WITH HIS GUN BAG AT HIS BACK AND WITH KNEEPADS AND CAMOU PANTS (1st impression to him would be an assasin or a PMC) | |

| I believe many Airsoft communities in Mla like the UAA is working hand-in hand with the PNP for the MOA of the airsoft sport. I'm sure that they would not take it easily if our sport will be limited to our homes and backyards. They would surely put this in writing. IRR made by the PNP is just temporary since no definite procedure is in place on how to control our guns. This is just my opinion. | |

| happy new year!
on the second thought, i think i touched on the issue a little too early. i must admit i was too presumptuous in my opinions as if i have been here long enough.
i realized too soon how highly sensitive the issue is and i don't think i am in the best academic position to dissect it. i know how complex the matter is. i want to leave it to the legal minds, considering its very intricate legal dimension and implications. i also leave it to those who have been in the airsoft for many years now. i salute you gentlemen! mabuhay kayo!
i remain and please accept my profuse apologies. once more, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
