I. GENERAL

a. The members of PMA Wargaming Club, Special Delta Elite, Baguio Airsoft Group and La Union Airsoft Group will conduct a three day Field Training Exercise (exercise “WARRIOR SPIRIT”) along Brgy Kias , Fort Del Pilar area (area bounded by VGL 44-48 and HGL 09-13, vicinity Brgy Kias – Fort del Pilar complex) on 16-18 January 2009. The PWC aims to expose its members with the different contending Airsoft teams of Northern Luzon. It has been also a good avenue to create networks from other institutions. The PWC also participates to enhance the troop leading procedures; its application in simulated combat situations and the analysis of enemy threats during this FTX Exercise. The PWC is a composite group of cadets ranging from firstclass up to fourthclass. This will allow its members to apply key leadership roles in a simulated combat scenario. 40 cadets, 250 civilians, 1 Officer and 2 enlisted personnel will participate in this activity.
For the purpose of attaining the needed military competencies, scenarios will be focused to the platoon level. The platoon level scenarios will be role-played by the designated umpires.

2. PURPOSE

The purpose of this exercise is to let the PMA cadets practice and reinforce the acquired knowledge and skills of the participants on the skills of soldiery, necessary to make them better-prepared small unit leaders in the conduct of small unit operations during non military training period. More so, this activity will enhance the networking and socialization of cadets among civilian counter parts.
The exercise will be conducted in an actual environment whereby the military objectives are speedy, efficient and decisive with minimum damage to life and property. Thus, the exercise is geared to infuse into each and every participant a realistic situation wherein his preparedness will be gauged in the face of real life combat with the enemy.

3. OBJECTIVES

Task – To evaluate the performance of PWC members as platoon leader for the 1cl cadets, squad leaders for the 2cl cadets and fire team leaders for the 3cl cadets during the accomplishment of training mission.
Condition – Jungle environment during FTX and semi urban (CQB)
Standard – Effectively lead platoon and squads into the accomplishment of the mission

Pre-evaluation:

PMA Wargaming Club Members

They have a wider range of military knowledge. They have undergone different military science courses and military leadership courses. For the firstclass and second classmen, they are expected to know task skill level 1 & 2 of the common tasks and the infantry tasks. They are expected to effectively lead a platoon, squad and/or fire team. They can be leaders for small unit operations.
Special Delta Elite/BAG- composed of professionals, businessmen, students, ex servicemen who are avid hobbyists of Airsoft Military simulations.

Identity of the participants:

PMA Cadets - As squad leaders and fire team leaders, they are evaluated in their performance as small unit leaders during planning process, movement to objectives, actions on objectives, and actions on patrol bases.
SPECIAL DELTA ELITE/ BAG – they are expected to gain basic knowledge and understanding on how to organize a platoon size operation. They shall act as main efforts

4. CONDUCT OF THE EXERCISE

a. Concept. (Annex B–Exercise Area and Annex D - Synchronization Matrix)

This Exercise “WARRIOR SPIRIT” is a three-day practical exercise of the PMA Wargaming Club members together with civilian Airsoft groups to be conducted from 16-18 within Brgy Kias–Fort del Pilar complex or at vicinity VGL 44-48 and HGL 09-13. This exercise aims to test the knowledge and skills of the cadets from the series of missions to be accomplished on the other hand, the civilians are to be oriented to the basic platoon size military simulation games. They will be made to plan, decide and execute missions on their own. Participants will be evaluated according to their performance and reaction to the given mission.
On 16 1330H January 2009, PMA cadets and civilian Airsoft groups shall be organized into platoons and will receive a canned message about the FTX. Conduct initial TLP and conduct brief back to respective umpires. Communication equipment will be distributed to cadets and umpires. Subsequently, a final briefing will be conducted by respective unit leaders. Umpires will give feedback to the exercise directorate regarding the preparedness of the cadets. Final guidance will be issued by the cadet in charge.
On 17 0400H January 2009, the participants being organized into infantry rifle platoons with corresponding company assignment, with umpire who serve as the platoon leaders, will move to their designated patrol bases and execute the mission as prescribed in the canned messages to be issued by their respective umpires. In the course of the conduct of the mission, they will be performing small unit tactics of infantry operations involving combat patrols, react to contact, squad attack and platoon defense. Mess requirements of the participants for the second day shall be provided at the FTX area through re-supply operation activity. This will be followed by patrol base operations. The PMA Wargaming club will organize a team to act as aggressors who shall conduct harassment and raid to selected patrol bases. The participants will perform small unit operations such as OP operation, ambush, raid and the like, along their respective AOR applying the combat skills of individual soldiers. Umpires will issue the canned message intended for D-Day activity. 1ST COMPANY will conduct offensive operations while 2ND COMPANY will conduct defensive operations. Night operations will start immediately after the termination of admin time (1900H). Both companies should have occupied LDC boot camp and Army detachment areas. In a sequence, cadets will conduct harassment on 18 0030H against the civilians.
On 18 0400H January 2009, the participants will go back to their previous patrol bases and plan for the next missions. 1st Company will conduct deliberate attack and execute the mission prescribed in the canned message to be issued by respective umpires.
