AoE or angle of engagement refers to the angle of the first tooth on the sector gear as it comes into contact with the pickup tooth on the piston. Here is a picture before adjustment:

Note the poor alignment angle of the sector gear. In order to correct this a shim or buffer material must be used to move the piston body back. The goal is to align the piston so it contacts the first tooth on the sector gear with the most surface area possible.

CARING FOR AIRSOFT GAS PISTOLS.

Whether their route into airsoft is via spring pistols or skirmishing, most people find themselves drawn fairly quickly to gas pistols, either as a sidearm to their AEG or as a more realistic form of target or collector’s pistol.

Most people will agree that good gas pistols provide the most entertaining airsoft shooting experience, but many are discouraged by bad experience ...

Tappet plate bearings

In my opinion this is one of the most looked over areas of the gearbox. I have tried sanding and polishing the rails of the tappet plate but I have never been satisfied with the drag that the design seems to produce. The way I address the problem is by adding a few single bearings to the sides of the tappet plate. Depending on the tolerances of different setups the width of the tappet plate might need to be thinned out to allow for the ...

Shimming your gearbox is one of the most important things you can do when working on your aeg gearbox. Proper shimming allows for easy movement of the gears while at the same time reducing the amount of bounce that your gears experience. CAUTION: Overshimming your gearbox will cause excessive friction and drag on your motor and battery. Undershimming your gears can cause a bouncing action in the engagement of your gears causing extensive wear on your gears and bushings.

Yes you can make your own SC using any hard plastic you can find and using

needle files especially the round ones to easily carve it to shape.

I recommend hard plastic since the part that will be hitting the tappet plate

is more larger, plastic will be more kinder for it instead of metal.

Most of the SC I made here like the clear ones came from the broken pgb shell

of the classic acm BE steyr aug pgb. The thickness and hardness was just perfect

for some DIY sector chips.

If the electrons can't get through the motor smoothly, everything heats up. Battery, wires, connectors, but most of all, your trigger switch.

Usually, you are rightly advised to go get that burly Systema or CA motor.
